The H2O Invitational Art Show
A salute to the Colorado River
Date: January 25, 26, 27, 2004
Time: Opening 6PM Friday, January 25t
Closing 5 PM Sunday, January 27
Location: Don Laughlin’s River Queen Estate Bullhead City, AZ.
This art show is about the experience of the Colorado River through the eyes of the artist and is meant to be an exploration of the voice of the river and its shoreline conversation with the desert.
This is a private invitation to a select gathering of artists whose professional talents have been chosen to interpret the theme in what will be the first major art exhibit of its kind in the tri-state area.
Everything about the river is open for exploration.
Dusk to dawn, sunrise and sunset. The beauty of its seasonal faces; winter, spring, summer, and fall. The rivers windy moods and cool seductions in the blazing heat… Its leisure’s and pleasure. The way it is visible and then invisible in the massive landscape. The delicate habitat and wildlife at water’s edge, its life blood for agriculture and hydro-electric power for millions down stream
The invitation is a call for new work, one piece, theme specific, preferably a large work, but not required. The show will be on the grounds of Don Laughlin’s’ beautiful river front estate, Bullhead City, AZ.
This show will be professionally juried and a Best of Show, 1st and 2nd prizes awarded. The show will be published locally, regionally and offered for collection sales. This show will be open to the public
A Gala Artist reception will be held 4-6PM Saturday afternoon January 26, 2003, at the estate.
All proceeds of sales go directly to the artists, and as a participating artist, it is your choice whether you wish to offer your work for sale or not. Outdoor/Indoor set up and display will be coordinated with each artist and any needs for set-up addressed and lighting provided for Friday and Saturday evening display. Of course, maximum security will be provided during the show. Set up beginning 11 AM to 3 PM. Fri. January 25th; take down 10 am to 12 noon Monday, January 27th. A professional limited liability contract will be provided for each participating artist.
